A more focused approach

United Way Regina has a long history of directing community support to work that can make a meaningful difference. As UWR sharpens its focus on early literacy, its approach to community investment will become more focused too.

Future partnerships, investments and activities will increasingly align with the early literacy focus and the long-term community goal: by 2035, all children in Regina are reading at grade level by the end of Grade 3.

Building on strong community partnerships

For nearly a decade, United Way Regina has invested in early literacy work alongside Regina’s school divisions and other community partners.

That experience has reinforced something important: no single organization, program or investment can move this work forward on its own. Families, schools, governments, early learning providers, community organizations, donors and many others all have important roles to play.

United Way Regina will continue to bring people, partnerships, support, and resources together to help move this shared work forward.

Looking ahead

This more focused approach will take shape over time.

United Way Regina is continuing to determine how future investments, partnerships, and activities will align with the early literacy focus. As those decisions are made, UWR will share more information with community partners, donors, and supporters.
