Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Number of Participants:  2
Number of Hours per Week: 30
Number of Weeks: up to 16 weeks
Hourly Wage:  $20-24
Preferred level of Education of the Participant:  No preference (including non students, recent graduate, etc.)

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Serving as a backbone organization for collective impact initiatives, United Way Regina is looking for someone to champion community building, as a Community Builder.

The role and responsibility of the position will be to raise awareness of programs and services available to support, identify gaps in service offerings and further understand the unique needs of underserved populations.

Essential Functions:

  • build partnerships with other service and community based organizations
  • share information to expand knowledge of existing services available in the community
  • better understand any restrictions or limiting factors which may exclude youth and other populations from receiving services
  • promote information to individuals and service organizations

 

Qualifications:

  • post secondary education considered an asset or equivalent work experience
  • experience working with or presenting information
  • experience working in collaboration with community based organizations
  • research skills to better understand community issues
  • facilitation skills to lead conversations and gather input and ideas on how to improve services
  • experience working with underserved communities
  • project management skills an asset
  • as the position is funded via the Federal Government Canada Summer Jobs program, program applicants must be between the ages of 15-30
  • This position requires both in and out of town travel. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
